If you accepted Jesus at ten-years old and grew up in a loving Christian home, you probably think your testimony doesn’t hold as much weight as someone who came to Jesus later in life. It is a common assumption, but it is wrong.
The Comparison Trap
We live in a culture that values dramatic transformation stories. The addict who got clean. The criminal who found God behind bars. The prodigal who came home after years of wandering. These are powerful, moving testimonies — and they are absolutely worth sharing.
But somewhere along the way, those of us with “quieter” stories started to believe our testimonies were somehow lesser. That growing up in the faith, never straying far, and living a life of steady obedience wasn’t worth talking about.
That is a lie from the enemy.
Every Story is a Miracle
Here is the truth: every salvation story is a miracle. Whether God reached into the depths of addiction to pull someone out, or whether He planted a seed in the heart of a child and watched it grow for decades — both are equally miraculous.
The Apostle Paul had a dramatic Damascus Road experience. Timothy, his young disciple, grew up in the faith, taught by his mother Eunice and grandmother Lois. Paul never suggested Timothy’s story was less valuable. In fact, he celebrated it (2 Timothy 1:5).
Your Story Reaches Someone Mine Cannot
Here is the practical reality: your testimony reaches people that a dramatic conversion story cannot.
There are teenagers sitting in church pews right now, wondering if their faith is real because they’ve never had a “rock bottom” moment. There are young adults questioning whether they truly belong to God because they can’t point to a single transformative night.
Your story — the steady, faithful, lifelong walk with Jesus — is exactly what they need to hear.
Share It Boldly
Don’t wait until your story feels “dramatic enough.” Don’t minimize what God has done in your life because it doesn’t fit the mold of a Hollywood redemption arc.
You were dead in your sins, and God made you alive in Christ (Ephesians 2:5). That is the most dramatic story ever told — and it is yours.
