Great book!
This is a biblical based book that goes in depth with life principles that we all need to live by.
As a Christian teacher I find it challenging to find bible base literature that is full of scripture and organized in such a way that you can find a solution for various situation one may face. Since receiving this book I have kept a copy in my classroom to reference as a guide to help point my students to the Bible in times of need.
This is a perfect book to read with your children, your students or to use for a youth bible study, as it will encourage them to strenghten their spiritual walk with God.
A great resource for teens
This is a great resource for teens as it covers a lot of key issues adolescents face. I like how it includes not only common negative habits to avoid (e.g. alcohol and anger) but also positive traits to cultivate (e.g. sympathy and courage). The author even looks ahead to future pitfalls that target readers may not likely be facing now (such as debt) but that seeds may be planted toward at a young age. The chapters are short, straightforward and end with action points to keep the book engaging for young readers. The book is very focused on the word of God, with each chapter beginning with a passage from scripture and additional verses in every chapter. It would be a wonderful book for parents to read with their teenage children!
A great book with many applications
I enjoyed reading Guided by Wisdom. As I read, my thoughts went to all of the different ways I could apply the book in my life.
It was written specifically for teens and would be great to use as a spiritual thought in family and/or youth group meetings, family scripture study, and personal study. It’s very easy to understand, and includes challenges and scripture references.
I found that as I read the section on anger that I checked myself when I was frustrated by something my children did. It reminded me to reflect on my thoughts and to take a step back. I think any book that encourages you to work on yourself and come closer to Christ is one that I will want myself and my children to read.
